

She was born on December 17, 1917 in Center, Texas, the only child of Berry and Ollie Stallings. She lived most of her life in the Rio Grande Valley, but moved to Austin, Texas in 1967. Ada Bess graduated from Lyford High School, attended Texas Women’s University and earned a bachelor’s degree from Pan American University. She married Darrell Preston Densman on April 24, 1936, and began 66 years of marriage that produced three children and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. After working for the Texas Department of Human Resources for many years, she retired in 1982 to spend time with her husband traveling and enjoying round and square dancing.
Ada Bess was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darrell Preston Densman; her daughter, Ollie Ann Densman; and her son, Berry Cornell Densman. She is survived by her daughter, Joy Funiciello and husband, Patrick Funiciello of North Richland Hills; her daughter-in-law, Ginny Densman of Houston; six grandchildren, Tammy Jaggears of Burleson, Kristy Dykgraaf of Grapevine, Coty Scott of Corpus Christi, Lisa Malarkey of Stoneham, MA, Patrick Funiciello of Washington, D. C. and Shawn Painchaud of Florida. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas on Wednesday, November 23rd at 1:00 p.m.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Wesley Jaggears, Steve Dykgraaf, Randy Scott, Patrick Funiciello, Shawn Painchaud, and Jim Malarkey.
