Bettie F. May

Bettie Jean May was born November 5th, 1923 in Hopkins County, Texas to Louis Jackson Ferguson and Martha Ruth Sherman Ferguson. She was the 8th of 10 children. She lived most of her adult life in central Texas after marrying Charles W. May who preceded her in death in 1998. Together they owned and operated May Construction Company for over 20 years and after “retiring” owned and operated 2C Charolais Ranch in Georgetown, Texas for ten years retiring again in 1978.

Bettie also worked for the Texas Highway Department for several years retiring again in 1984. She moved to Houston in 2002 to be closer to family. She was also predeceased by her son Richard C. May of Round Rock in 1988. She is survived by one son Ron May and wife Betty of Houston, six grandchildren, Mitchell May, Steve May, Melinda Lambert, Susan Feathers, John May, Lauren Reese and husband, Jacoby. She has 6 great grandchildren and is also survived by her brother, Boyd Ferguson of Greenville, Texas along with numerous nieces and nephews.
