

Betty J. Carter- Lott, was born to Evelyn L. Carter and Leonard F. Hill on September 27, 1943, in Austin, TX.
Sister Betty Lott departed this life on January 26, 2021. She is preceded in death by her Mother Evelyn Carter and Father Leonard Hill, Stepmother Rosa Hill, Brother, Adlia Hill and Sister, Effie "Jackie" Hill Franklin.
On November 6, 1962, she married Wilmer L Lott. To this union two sons were born, Leonard C Lott and David D Lott. She later divorced and gave birth to her daughter Shametra Foster with Sherman Foster.
Sister Lott attended schools in the Austin Independent School District and graduated from L.C. Anderson High School. She went on to attend Austin Community College for a few years. Betty worked for the City of Austin for 5 years and later worked for the State of Texas at TMRS, where she retired with 20 years of service in 2005.
Sister Lott accepted Christ at an early age. In 1977, she joined Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member and served as President of the Usher Board and sat on many committees. She was awarded in 2009 with the Faithful Servant Award for 32 years of service. She loved being at church and attended faithfully until her health began to decline.
Betty was a dedicated and devoted Mother, Mema, Aunt, Sister, and friend. Above all of these, she was surely a servant of God. Betty had a desire to serve God's people and that she did. She always gave a helping hand to anyone and always had an open door for those in need. Under her quiet and humble demeanor, lived a resilient and extraordinary Queen that could brighten up your day with just a smile. She loved to travel, she enjoyed spending cherished moments with her family. She loved to bowl and spent plenty of time at Dart Bowl with the Grandchildren. She had a true passion for shopping, fashion, and fine dining.

She also leaves to cherish her memory; Two Sisters; Joycelyn Catron (Jonathan) of Bastrop, Kendell Wallace (Ernesto) of Austin, TX; Three Brothers; Troy Hill; Leonard C Hill and Homer Hill all of Austin, TX; Sixteen Great Grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
