She met and married the love of her life, Danny Lee Watts, on April 20, 1956 in Lebanon, Indiana. Betty Lou was a very strong-willed and hard working woman who endured many hardships throughout her life, but never complained or gave up. She was very proud of her Native American heritage. Betty Lou was a wonderful cook and baker and she also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Being deaf herself, she was always an advocate and active supporter of the deaf community. Her sense of humor was contagious and she loved making people smile. She was quite the fan of the cartoon character, Betty Boop and even collected Betty Boop memorabilia. Betty Lou was very close to her family and loved spending time with her many grandchildren. Last, but not least, Betty Lou loved her special friend Bill and her furry four legged companion, Nacho.
Betty Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ruby Campbell; her husband of nearly 40 years, Danny Lee Watts; son, Russell Watts; and sister, Inez Cox. Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Rick Watts, Randy Watts and Rocky Watts and his wife Debbie; daughter, Sonja Walters and her husband Virgil; brother, Arb Campbell and wife Kathey; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. Graveside services will immediately follow at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
