Beverly Jean Mahoney

Beverly J. Mahoney, age 86, of Austin Texas, went home to be with the Lord and passed away on May 2, 2025. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 26 1939 to parents Adolph (Louie) and Beatrice (Brennan) Seromik. Beverly graduated in 1956 from Detroit Day School for the Deaf in Detroit, Michigan.

Beverly volunteered at the PTA at North Henry School in Lansing, Michigan. She loved to volunteer with the class for deaf children. Beverly loved going to deaf social groups, local deaf clubs or any event to see anyone. She also loved to chat on videophone and did so often with her family and friends.

She enjoyed reading, playing games on her iPad, puzzle books, coloring books, some crafts and ceramic painting. Beverly loved to collect angels and enjoyed making mini crosses.

Preceded in death by her husband, James H. Mahoney, who passed away on July 1, 2005.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her son, Kenneth Mahoney of Pflugerville, Texas; her daughter, Julia and husband Wesley Street of Pflugerville,Texas; her grandchildren, Samuel Street and Eliza Street; and her great-granddaughter, Sauni Rhodes.

She will missed by all of her deaf friends and their families and the many other relatives and friends that loved her.

A memorial service will held in 2026 in Lansing, Michigan.
