

Bobbie attended elementary school in Bastrop County, TX, Kealing Jr. High, and L.C. Anderson High School in Austin, TX, where she graduated in 1954. Upon graduation from high school, she attended Huston Tillotson College) and the University of Texas.
She Married Alvin Arnold on June 27th, 1959. No Children Were born to this union. Bobbie began a career with the Internal Revenue Service in Austin, Texas, which lasted forty-seven years. Mrs. Arnold started her Career as a file clerk and advanced to a second-level Frontline Manager. Bobbie received numerous recognitions and awards in her tenure at the IRS, including the Albert Gallatin Award for special recognition from President Gerald Ford for a suggestion that saved the IRS more than $10,000 dollars. This suggestion was adopted by the Utah service center as well as the Austin Service Center.
Upon her retirement, Bobbie began a career in finance, which lasted for fourteen years. Bobbie and her husband, Alvin, also owned and operated Kiddie Corner Child Care Center. Her relationship with God began at age fourteen, when she united with Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, under the pastorate of J.H. Washington. She remained a loyal member until her demise. Bobbie was a member of other organizations, including, but not limited to, Life Membership in the National Council of Negro Women (Treasurer), the Austin Business Women's Club, and L.C. Anderson High School of 1954 (Vice President). Bobbie was an active member of the Junior Mission for many years, until she became her mother's full-time caregiver.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her mother Abbey Gayle Hodge Hyder; father, Frederick Hyder; stepfather, Lovia Johnson; sister, Gracie Mae Guyton; brother, Howard Aldridge Sr.; and nieces, April Denise Guyton, and April Denise Wells Guyton.
She is survived by her husband Alvin Arnold; nephews, Keenan, Alvin, and Chris Guyton, Howard and Tamela Aldridge, David Arnold; and Surrogate Daughter, Sandra Green.
Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, US, on May 14, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Greater Mt. Zion Church, 4301 Tannehill Ln, Austin, TX 78721, US, on May 15, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.
Committal will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, US, on May 15, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
