

Bob was born to William Bone and Helen Ethel Coco on October 31, 1929, at home in Petty, Texas.
Bob graduated from Paris High School in 1946 and worked at a movie theater, picked cotton and baled hay. He then attended college at East Texas State in Commerce, Texas earning a master’s in education.
During his first-year teaching in Lindale, Texas, he met Ruth Calvert. They married that year and were married 65 years at the time of her passing in 2017.
Bob served in the Army and National Guard, rising to the rank of Lt Colonel. He worked in Education for 34 years as a teacher, principal then worked for the Texas Education Agency.
Bob loved to work with wood, taught wood shop during his teaching career and was an avid wood carver. His love of nature, Christian faith and his sense of humor were expressed in his carvings.
Bob and Ruth were long time members of the First Baptist Church in Round Rock where they developed many friendships and were very active in their Sunday School.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Bone, his parents, grandparents, his daughter Becky Renaud, his brother Bill Bone and niece Martha Jo Bone.
Bob is survived by his son Steve Bone and wife Jana, son in law Frank Renaud, and grandson Ryan Renaud. In addition, he is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s memory to the American Heart Association or an Alzheimer’s charity.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday February 3, 2025 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Following the service, he will be laid to rest with military honors at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery Mausoleum.
