

Bobby Earl Reeves was born on October 6, 1927, in Newton, Kansas. He passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Bobby spent his youth on a Kansas farm before moving to Texas as a teenager. He joined the United States Navy in 1945, shortly before the end of World War II, with the majority of his service during peacetime.
Bobby married Dorothy Horner on January 1, 1947, in Edinburg, Texas. Shortly thereafter they made their home in Austin where Bobby worked for the Texaco Chemical Co. for 32 years. After retirement from Texaco Chemical Bobby spent 7 years working in the chemical research department at the University of Texas Balcones Research Center. A man of faith, he and Dorothy were members of Sky-View Baptist Church of Austin. Bobby enjoyed fishing and the outdoors, trips to Alaska, and many sunsets on Lake Travis with his loving wife of 64 years.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, Donny Reeves and wife, Terry; son, Dan Reeves and wife, Anette; foster son, Elvin Horner; sister, Ida Bell Cain; sister, Sue Myers; “Boppa” to grandchildren, John Reeves; Brandi Stark and husband, Craig; Tammi Danielson and husband, Jeff; Sean Reeves and wife, Jennifer; Dale Reeves; Dustin Reeves, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, V.A. and Blanche Reeves, brother, Dwayne, and sister, Jeanie.
Bobby was a kind, gentle, and loving man. His humility and decency are only surpassed by his legacy and the admiration and love his family and friends will forever have for him.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lighthouse Hospice in Austin for their respect and care of Bobby.
A visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Friday February 4, 2011 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. IH 35 Pflugerville TX 78660. The funeral service will be on Saturday February 5, 2011 in the Memorial Chapel at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery.
