Camille Pfluger

May 2, 1928-October 21, 2024

A loving Mother, devoted animal lover, dear friend to many, Camille Pfluger left this earth on Monday, October 21, 2024. She is now in the house of our Lord and in the company of friends and loved ones.

She was born on May 2, 1928, in Jackson Mississippi to Lucille Swett (Hickerson) and Lester Swett. Camille lived in Jackson until she was 8 years old, then, joined her mother in Austin, Texas. Her mother went on to marry Charles Jones, Sr. and they later welcomed her beloved brother, Charles Jr. She attended Austin High School and the University of Texas. Camille married Boone H. Heep, Jr. in 1946. They had 3 children, Boone H. Heep, III (Trey), Mary Camille Heep and Zoe Ann Heep and enjoyed their life on the ranch in Buda, Texas. In 1968, Camille married Willard Pfluger, and they shared a long life together until his passing in 2016. Camille was preceded in death by husband Willard, her son Boone (Trey) and her brother, Charles Jones, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Camille Heep, Zoe Ann Heep, granddaughters, Belle Anne Bybel (Jason), Bonnie Latham (Justin), great grandchildren, Boone Bybel, Camille Bybel, Banks Latham and Avie Anne Latham, as well as other precious family and friends.

Camille shared lifelong friendships that ranged from her childhood in Austin and dear friends in Buda.(Elizabeth Hoskins, Mary Giberson, and Mary Montague) that shared many games of bridge. In her 56 years in Pflugerville, countless bonds were made and will never be forgotten.

Willard and Camille brought some of the first Limousin cattle to Texas and were active in Limousin Cattle Associations. They traveled to France and across the US representing this new breed of cattle. Camille always loved being with the cattle, her beloved dogs and the country life. Her greatest joy was that of her children, granddaughters, and great grandchildren. Camille liked to squeeze in “flavored water” at the end of the day, and she loved to visit Las Vegas and New Orleans to play the slots.

Visitation and service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 500 Immanuel Rd. Pflugerville, TX 78660, on Monday, October 28, 2024 with visitation beginning at 10:00am, funeral service at 11:00am, followed by a light lunch at 12:00pm. Around 1:00pm will depart for Live Oak Cemetery 10739-10799 Twin Creek Rd., Manchaca, TX 78652, for graveside burial around 2:00-2:30pm. We invite all to attend any and all services.

Pallbearers are Jason Bybel, Boone Bybel, Justin Latham, Banks Latham, Ray Kaatz and Scott Hickman. The family would like to recognize the care provided this year by Marvelia Perez, Irma Stowers, Blanca Munoz, the wonderful staff of Heritage Lakes (Robyn, Shannon, Teri, Eva and Patricia) and Valerian Hospice.
