Carolyn passed peacefully into the arms of her beloved Savior on Friday, May 9, 2020 – with family members at her bedside. She was born on July 7, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents John Clifton and Roseanna Opal Bowlware.
Carolyn married her college sweetheart, Donald Dean Dupy, on August 19, 1951 and together they raised three wonderful children: Frederick Duane, William Wayne, and daughter, Marilynn Marie.
Carolyn attended Oklahoma A&M, where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority and went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Greensborough with a degree in Home Economics. She was also the Co-owner of 2 family businesses: American Rental and American Party Rental, both located in Austin, Texas.
Carolyn and Don loved to travel, and did so extensively throughout all 7 Continents. She was a faithful member of Christ Episcopal Church and an active part of the Capital City Model A Club. She loved to go on the Model A road trips to nearby Fredericksburg, marveling over the bluebonnets, eating peaches and sharing wine with her friends!
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband Don, parents John and Opal, and her grandson Adam Voise. She is survived by her sons Frederick (wife Monica), William (wife Michele) and daughter Marilynn (husband Wade) Voise, in addition to grandsons Brandon Dupy, Cameron Dupy (fiancé Kelsey Eiles), Johnathan Dupy (girlfriend Kylie Johnson), Russell Voise (wife Reese) and her only granddaughter Lauren Colorio (husband Zach). Carolyn also experienced the joy of six great grandchildren, one nephew and two nieces.
Viewing and remembrances with the family will be available Thursday, May 14, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a 1:00 p.m. Friday service to be held in The Memorial Chapel – all located at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas.
