Cathey Boedeker passed away on February 26, 2022. She was born on November 12th, 1951 in Dallas, Texas to her father, Leo Frank Vavra, and her mother Norma Hellen Patzig. She was raised in a family with two other siblings: brother, Ricky Vavra, and sister, Linda Grantges, who are both still living in Dallas, Texas.
She married Paul Boedeker from Stamford, Texas and moved to Austin, Texas to follow his job here. They wanted to escape city life and they purchased land south of Hutto, Texas where they built a home and settled there permanently. Cathey had two children: Lori Hopkins and Ryan Boedeker and one grandson, Mason Saldana.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the NOCC National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2022 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. The funeral service will begin the following day at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Round Rock, Texas. Cathey will then be laid to rest in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
