

Cecilio was born on November 22, 1961 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Maria Del Carmen Balderrama. He received his bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas in 1983. On April 27, 1985, he married Nora Elsa Viegra. They raised two children, Cecilio Balderrama, Jr., and Claudia Balderrama.
Cecilio loved watching his Washington Redskins (Football Team) play, especially when they played the Dallas Cowboys. It was always a big game to watch for the family. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson on weekends through the hills of Austin. He took up cooking and was always looking for new recipes to try out, either on the stove or in his smoker. As a juvenile probation officer and social worker at Lanier High School, he had a passion in helping adolescents choose the right path for their future. All his friends and former coworkers would say that he was someone they could lean on. He was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Cecilio was preceded in death by his mother, Maria; brother, Guillermo; and his grandson, Baby JJ. He is survived by his wife Nora; his son and family, C.J., Melissa, and Joshua; daughter, Claudia; and his brothers Luis, Jose, and Julio.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 28th, 2021 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks in Pflugerville at 10:00 a.m.
