Bobby was born in Austin, Texas on April 14, 1930 to Charles Cobb and Hortense Balagia. He was the first born son of eight children.
He left Austin to serve his country during the Korean War as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force, during which time he met and married his wife of 60 years, Anna Jane Sherwood. They raised four sons- Charles (wife Kathy), David (wife Debbie), Walter (wife Susan), and Jeff (wife Jane Rose) Balagia. They have eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Bobby was a loving and supportive father who instilled great respect and loyalty in his children. All who knew him were better for it- he truly enjoyed life and found pleasure in every moment- be it swimming in Barton Springs, cooking mushy for all his family and friends, or watching golf on TV.
Cancer took him from his family and friends, but nothing can take from us our memories and love of such a wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will never be forgotten. Love you Bobby, Dad, Grandpa, Papaw- always, forever.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, with a rosary service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
