After high school Clifford entered the United States Air Force. Before retiring, he was promoted to Master Sergeant. He retired from the Air Force in 1990. After retiring from the military, Clifford worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 years.
He married Carolyn Norris Davis on October 18, 1974 and gained three sons. With their union they welcomed two daughters and adopted two granddaughters.
Clifford was a faithful member of the Eastside Church of Christ serving as an usher, communion service, and van ministry. He loved listening to acapella gospel music, bowling, and watching sports, especially football.
He is preceded in death by his father Clifford Davis Sr., mother Sallie Davis, stepmother Mary Elizabeth Davis; daughter Denise Davis, sons Eddie and James Williams; brothers Elihue Davis, Randle Davis, Oscar Leon Davis Sr., sisters Addie M. Webster, Gertrude Colbert; sister-in-laws Gene Davis, Mary Davis, and brother-in laws Sunny Colbert and Stockie Webster. He leaves to cherish his beloved memories his wife Carolyn Davis, daughter Temeki (Richard) Bowles, son Patrick Williams, sister Annie Grace (Henry) Houston, grandchildren Casbreanna Davis, Danyette Davis, Tre’Von Mitchell, Kerrione Davis, Dee Campbell, Erica Campbell, Arbreezesha Davis, Alexandria Bowles, De’Von Hatter, Ayden Bowles, Caedean Davis, and a host of family and friends.
A visitation for family and friends of Clifford will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at East Side Church of Christ, 5701 E. MLK Jr., Austin. A graveside service with military honors will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542.
