It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Clifford James Neal, who was born on August 24, 1955 in Austin, Tx. He departed this life on May 21, 2025, at the age of 69. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in Jehovah God.
Cliff, as he was affectionately known, was united in marriage to his loving wife, Sharalyn Jenelle Hoffman, on November 24, 1973, a partnership that was exemplified by love, dedication, and united service to Jehovah. From that union they were blessed with 3 daughters, Brandy, Adrianna and Jessica.
Cliff was the beloved son of Marshall Neal Jr and Doris Mae Miller who preceded him in death along with his older sister Mairon Kay Russ Neal. His parents raised Cliff and his siblings in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Rosewood Congregation where he dedicated his life to Jehovah through baptism on October 17, 1964, and remained a loyal servant for over 60 years until the end. He served as an elder in the congregation, willing to guide and encourage individuals, offering help and comfort from the Scriptures. He worked on multiple building projects on Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls throughout Texas, always lending a helping hand when needed.
He attended Travis High School and Austin Community College. Cliff pursued and excelled in his professional career as a Building Engineer. He enjoyed hosting gatherings for friends and family and shared his self-proclaimed best/famous gumbo. He will be cherished in the memories of the vast number of friends and family, remembering his witty sense of humor, infectious smile and laugh, and animated facial expressions.
Clifford is survived by his devoted wife, Sharalyn Neal; his loving daughters Brandy Neal, Adrianna Omakpokpose (Omas) and Jessica Neal; his granddaughters Kianna and Nitara Yett; his siblings Marshall Neal (Sonia), Rachael Neal, stepmother Mary Neal, stepbrothers Darold Johnson, Ronald Johnson, Melvin Johnson, Carl L. Johnson, and Anthony W. Johnson, stepsisters Miriam Rendou, Gloria Gordan, and Sandra Johnson; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as his spiritual family.
We look forward to seeing a healthy, vibrant Clifford in Jehovah’s earthly paradise in the near future. We find comfort in the hope of seeing him once again when pain, sorrow and death will be no more (Revelation 21:3,4)
A memorial service for Clifford will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:30 AM at The Kingdom Hall, 6200 Bolm Rd, Austin, TX 78721.
