

Daniel Sanchez Balderas Sr. of Round Rock, Texas went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. Dan was 86 years old. Born February 23, 1931, in Hutto, Texas, to the late Louis and Rosa S. Balderas.
He grew up in Hutto and San Antonio, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army with an Honorable Discharge, April 1954. Dan married Consuelo (Connie) Campa, August 29, 1954 and together they had four sons, Danny, Michael, Larry and Mark.
Dan started his food service profession at Kelly Air Force Base, in San Antonio, Texas. Dan had dreams of owning a restaurant, so he started out by selling tacos from the trunk of his car in Round Rock, Texas and in 1987 opened Ole'Taco, now Tio Dan Puffy Tacos. He later opened Little Red Wagon and Pacific Gulf Sea Island Fish Fry. His businesses have grown and continue to grow. With his perseverance and determination he was very successful and became an icon in Round Rock. He never gave up on his dreams and his legacy will always live on.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents and wife, along with two brothers, Lawrence S. Balderas and Andy Balderas; five sisters, Consuelo Valdez, Ernestina Perez, Eva Rodriguez, Alejandra Garcia and Eloisa Trejo. He is survived by his brothers, Edward, Gilbert, Rueben, David and Louis Balderas; sisters, Marcelina Martinez, Louisa Naranjo, Gloria Martinez and Olga Balderas; sons, Daniel Balderas Jr. and wife Irene Balderas, Michael Balderas and wife Juany Balderas, Lawrence Balderas and Mark Balderas and wife Linda Balderas; grandchildren Michelle Tripputi and husband Paul Tripputi, Heather Godina and husband Juan Godina, Melanie Balderas, Amanda Capps and husband Taylor Capps, Alyssa Balderas, Arianna Balderas, Shannon Balderas and Daniel Luis Balderas; great grandchildren Giuliana Tripputi, Isabella Tripputi, Grayson Capps and Benjamin Tripputi; as well as many nieces and nephews; along with great-nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all their friends and church family for their words of encouragement and prayers. We will be celebrating Dan's life at a visitation and wake service on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a homegoing ceremony on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Round Rock, 306 Round Rock Ave. 78664. Interment will follow in the Garden of the Four Apostles at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
