Daniel De Jesus Melgar

Daniel De Jesús Melgar of Manor,TX passed away peacefully on February 8th, 2025 at the age of 62. He was born in Santa Rosa De Lima, La Union, El Salvador. He was the youngest boy of 15 siblings. He had a humble upbringing and had to work to help his family from a very young age.

On Oct 5th, 1980 he married the love of his life, Maria and they had 3 beautiful children, Daniel, William and Claudia. In 1998 he traveled to the U.S for work and in 1999 he, his wife Maria and their three children moved permanently to the U.S. He would say that was something that made him very happy, to have his family living together in this country.

Daniel was a man of faith, a true man of God. He dedicated his life to study and to share the word of God in the Bible. He strived to be an example of perseverance and zealousness, even in the face of adversity.

He loved God first and wanted to be remembered as a man who treasured his salvation in Christ and looked forward to eternal life in heaven. And pointed others to the same goal. He loved his wife, he loved his children and grandchildren. He loved his family. He loved the church and served with all his heart. Because of this he was also loved and highly esteemed by numerous people. He was a special man that left a mark in people’s hearts with his teachings and instruction.

Daniel had many accomplishments as he was a man that enjoyed learning and seeked knowledge. He would say his greatest accomplishment was to earn his bus driver’s license and work for Manor ISD as a school bus driver. He looked forward to getting up in the morning and going to work.

He was preceded in death by his parents Manuel Melgar and Ana Matilde Lazo and his brothers Miguel Melgar, Martir Melgar and Benito Melgar.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Melgar. Their 3 children, Daniel, William and Claudia Melgar. His grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin, Jason, Christopher, Joseph, Daniel, Isabella, Jeremy and William Melgar. His sisters Lucila, Salvadora, Gladis, Graciela, Melva, Hilda, Maria Guadalupe y Luz Estela Melgar. And his brothers, Reynaldo, Mariano and Fabio Melgar.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all the family and friends, for their continued support and prayers. Thank you to the churches Primera Iglesia Bautista de Pflugerville and Primer Centro Cristiano del Rey. Thank you to the church in El Salvador that always kept him in their prayers. Special thanks to the pastoral families and the church leaders for the love and care they showed him, specially in his last days.

Daniel De Jesús Melgar de Manor, TX falleció pacíficamente el 8 de febrero de 2025 a la edad de 62 años. Nació en Santa Rosa de Lima, La Unión, El Salvador. Era el hermano menor de 15 hermanos. Fue criado de una manera humilde y tuvo que trabajar para ayudar a su familia desde muy pequeño.

El 5 de octubre de 1980 se casó con el amor de su vida, María y tuvieron 3 hermosos hijos, Daniel, William y Claudia. En 1998 viajó a Estados Unidos por trabajo y en 1999 él, su esposa María y sus tres hijos se mudaron permanentemente a Estados Unidos. Él diría que eso fue algo que lo hizo muy feliz, tener a su familia viviendo junta en este país.

Daniel era un hombre de fe, un verdadero hombre de Dios. Dedicó su vida a estudiar y compartir la palabra de Dios en la Biblia. Se esforzó por ser ejemplo de perseverancia y celo, incluso ante las adversidades. Amaba a Dios primero y quería ser recordado como un hombre que atesoraba su salvación en Cristo y esperaba la vida eterna en el cielo. Y motivó a otros a llegar a la misma meta.

Amaba a su esposa, amaba a sus hijos y nietos. Amaba a su familia. Amaba la iglesia y servía con todo su corazón. Por eso también fue amado y muy estimado por muchas personas. Fue un hombre especial que dejó una huella en el corazón de las personas con sus enseñanzas e instrucciones.

Daniel tuvo muchos logros ya que era un hombre que disfrutaba aprender y buscaba el conocimiento. Él diría que su mayor logro fue obtener su licencia de conducir de autobús y trabajar para Manor ISD como conductor de autobús escolar. Disfrutaba levantarse por la mañana e ir a trabajar.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres Manuel Melgar y Ana Matilde Lazo y sus hermanos Miguel Melgar, Mártir Melgar y Benito Melgar.

Le sobrevive su esposa, María Melgar. Sus tres hijos, Daniel, William y Claudia Melgar. Sus nietos, Matthew, Benjamin, Jason, Christopher, Joseph, Daniel, Isabella, Jeremy y William Melgar. Sus hermanas Lucila, Salvadora, Gladis, Graciela, Melva, Hilda, María Guadalupe y Luz Estela Melgar. Y sus hermanos, Reynaldo, Mariano y Fabio Melgar.

La familia desea agradecer especialmente a todos los familiares y amigos por su continuo apoyo y oraciones. Gracias a las iglesias Primera Iglesia Bautista de Pflugerville y Primer Centro Cristiano del Rey. Gracias a la iglesia de El Salvador que siempre lo tuvo en sus oraciones. Un agradecimiento especial a las familias pastorales y a los líderes de las iglesias por el amor y el cuidado que le mostraron, especialmente en sus últimos días.

A visitation for Daniel will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Primera Iglesia Bautista de Pflugerville, 16802 Radholme Ct, Round Rock, TX 78664. A funeral service will occur Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at Primera Iglesia Bautista de Pflugerville, 16802 Radholme Ct, Round Rock, TX 78664. A committal will occur Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Cemetery,14501 N Interstate 35 Frontage Rd, Pflugerville, TX 78660.

Following the burial, family and friends are warmly invited to return to Primera Iglesia Bautista de Pflugerville for a special celebration in memory of Daniel Melgar. This gathering will allow us to share stories, reflect on his life, and celebrate his enduring legacy with those who knew and loved him.
