Born on May 8, 1964, in Austin, Texas, to Ernesto and Juanita Guerra, David was truly one of a kind — a friend to all and a stranger to none, as his daughter-in-law fondly describes him. To his children and grandchildren, he proudly held the title of “World’s Greatest Football Fan.”
A dedicated and hardworking man, David served Travis County faithfully for over 20 years. His strong work ethic, loyalty, and commitment earned him the respect of all who worked alongside him.
David is survived by his children and their spouses — Johnny Guerra (Natalie), Cierra Guerra (Richard), and Chelsea Guerra (Xavier) — as well as his beloved grandchildren Gabriella Guerra, Elijah Ihgeborow, Deziree Zamora, and Arianna Guerra. He is also survived by his brother Ron Coy Guerra, his sister Erica Guerra Piña (Adam), his many nieces and nephews, and the mother of his children, Denise Rodriguez-Guerra. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto and Juanita Guerra. Grandparents — Antonio and Maria Coy, Pablo and Juanita Guerra, his many aunts and uncles.
David will be remembered for his unwavering love and loyalty to his family and friends, his infectious spirit, and his passion for football — bleeding burnt orange on Saturdays and Cowboy blue and silver on Sundays. Whether dressed in one of his signature guayabera shirts or a sharp pair of Stacy Adams shoes, David brought warmth, humor, and style to every moment.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
