Debbie was born March 11, 1958, in Gonzales, Texas, to Chris and Floyd Sampson. She passed from this life March 14, 2012, in Austin, Texas.
Debbie was full of life and always had a smile on her face. In her earlier years, she loved to play basketball, softball and volleyball. In addition to excelling at sports, she graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1976 from Manor High School. She then attended The University of Texas where she graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. After college, she became a teacher at Manor High School and was also a coach over girls’ sports. Her most current work history included work in the field of clinical research working for Innovative Neurotronics as the Director of Clinical Research.
Debbie was an avid reader and also loved to travel. Her most current passion has been geocaching with her husband and soul mate, Joseph Stearns. They were married on July 7, 2007.
Debbie was the matriarch of her family, definitely the go-to person. She loved her children Shauna, Ralph, and Elliott unconditionally and did anything she could for them. She supported the boys’ in their baseball and football games and events and was their biggest fan.
She is preceded in death by her father, Floyd Sampson and sister, Erica. She is survived by her mother, Chris Sampson; husband, Joseph Stearns; children Shauna Reyes, Ralph Reyes and Elliott Reyes; grandchildren Christopher and Vanessa; and siblings Tim Sampson and Toni Guerrero.
