Dena Huebner

Dena was born on October 16, 1942 in Waterloo, Iowa, and was raised in San Antonio by her mother, Dorothy Uren and her step-father, Donald Uren. She met the love of her life, Jack Huebner, in San Antonio and was married on August 26, 1960.

Dena worked for North American Aviation and later the State Farm Regional Office in Austin, where she had a long and distinguished career of more than 25 years. After Dena retired, she enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas, but most of all being with her grandchildren.

Dena will be dearly missed by her husband Jack; her daughter, Dana Wilcoxen and her husband, Brent of Austin; her step-daughters, Sherry Snoga and Lori Huebner-Gutierrez of San Antonio and Cindy Allday of Marquez, Texas; her sister, Diana Myers of San Antonio; and her beloved grandchildren, Zac Wilcoxen and his wife Allison, Mitchell Wilcoxen, Jacob Wilcoxen, and Lauren Snoga, all of Austin, Lindsey Snoga and Sarah Ortiz of San Antonio; her niece, Michelle Lovasz and her husband Mark of Los Angeles.

Her mother, Dorothy, preceded her in death, as well as her step-father, Don, and her sister, Linda Pfister.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. David’s Hospital for their care over the many years.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation to be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the funeral home chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
