Donald Vance Jackson, 58, passed away early in the morning on December 21, 2011, in hospice care at Christopher House in Austin, Texas. Born in San Bernardino, California, on November 3, 1953, Don was one of five children of William Earl Jackson and Madeline Louise Wallace.
Don’s passions were his family, his career, and his music. He was the dedicated father of Emily Jackson, Amanda Waterman, and Hunter Jackson, the loving partner to Cynthia Kimble, a loving brother to Jacquelyn, Dan, Gayle and Dave Jackson, and the loving grandfather of Cember Waterman. Don lived every day of his life as if it were his last.
In 1986 Don received his Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose, California. For more than 20 years he was our friendly, neighborhood chiropractor as owner of Jackson Chiropractic on Koenig Lane in Austin. When he was not with his family or building his business, he was singing and writing music. He graced coffee shops, bars, weddings and funerals with his love for music, and he never let a moment go by when he was not thinking of new lyrics to jot down. He became an author in 2004 when he wrote Health Tips for Rednecks, Bubbas and other sorts, and sought every day to live his life to the fullest, and to help others do the same.
A Memorial service will be held at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church at 3:00pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2011.
