Donnas passed away on March 18, 2026, at the age of 75. She was born on Sept.17,1950, in Memphis, Tennessee, where she grew up. She also lived in other locations like Syracuse, New York, and Huntsville, Alabama. Donnas graduated from Huntsville High School in 1968.
She married the love of her life, David Dominguez, on November 23rd, 1985, and they both adopted a son, DJ Dominguez, in 1991. Donnas worked as an administrative Secretary at IBM in Austin, Texas as well as a first-grade teacher at St. Paul Elementary in Taylor, Texas.
Donnas loved being a wife, mother and sister! She was actively involved in church. She enjoyed teaching Pre-K children about GOD, which she did for over 40 years. Watching many of the children she taught grow up and bring children of their own back to learn about the love of Jesus Christ brought great joy to heart!
She was an active teacher to her son, DJ Dominguez, from first grade through twelfth grade. She was a proficient gardener, creative scrapbooker and storyteller and a determined board gamer. When not balancing the above, she also spent a lot of time caring for seniors at AGE of Central Texas, passing on the love she saw her parents need in their final days.
Mom never met a stranger, even animals and was known to befriend the barn cats and wild deer, the latter of which would even eat from her hand knowing her gentle and kind spirit.
Donnas was preceded in death by her father, Frank W. Matchett, her mother, Mildred Matchett, and her sister, Dee Ledbetter. Donnas is survived by her husband, David S. Dominguez; son, DJ Dominguez and his fiancée, Natalie Goodwin; and her brother, Wesley Matchett and his wife, Linda Matchett.
The family would like to thank Amada Senor Care and The Waterford at Round Rock for the care and compassion they showed to Donnas in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
