

Dorothy Horner was born on October 15, 1929, in Karnes City, Texas, spending the majority of her youth with her migrant farming family in South Texas. She married the love of her life, Bobby Reeves, on January 1, 1947. Shortly after their marriage Bobby and Dorothy moved to Austin, Texas, where they made their permanent home, raised three sons, and attended Sky-View Baptist Church. Dorothy worked for the Internal Revenue Service for fifteen years before retiring with Bobby on Lake Travis. From there they embarked on many trips to Alaska and Hawaii, and enjoyed many nice summers on the lake with their family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bobby Reeves; mother, Kate Horner Steed and stepfather, Robert Steed; brother, Jack Horner; and sister, Evelyn Shores.
Dorothy is survived by her brother, Gene Horner; son, Donny Reeves and wife, Terry; son, Dan Reeves and wife, Anette; foster son, Elvin Horner and wife, Candy; cherished “Nanny” to grandchildren, John Reeves; Brandi Stark and husband, Craig; Tammi Danielson and husband, Jeff; Sean Reeves and wife, Jennifer; Dale Reeves; Dustin Reeves, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. IH 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
