We, as a family, are utterly devastated to announce that Mr. Douglas Lee Warren, age 32, of Jonestown, Texas passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2021. He was born on September 12, 1988 in Hartford, Connecticut.
Doug grew up in Hebron, Connecticut and attended RHAM High School. He furthered his education by graduating from United Technical Institute in California where he completed Cummins Power Generation Program Arizona. After graduating, he was employed by Cummins Inc. where he was a lead service technician installing and maintaining commercial generators in Texas. He was an extremely passionate hard-worker who was highly respected and admired as a leader.
Doug had many passions and hobbies: He was an avid skier after he learned to ski on many family vacations in Vermont. He enjoyed playing his guitar and his music always had a tendency to make him feel calm and collected. He loved to be outdoors whether he was target shooting with his father or fishing with his son, Noah. He would never turn down the opportunity to eat ice cream or anything he prepared using a smoker, especially brisket. He was also known for his sense of humor and his ability to crack jokes, even when it might not have been the most appropriate setting. But most of all, he was a family man through and through; he adored his wife and sons so much, was quick to show it, and even quicker to say it. Doug and Julia both were immensely proud of the life and family they had built here in Texas.
Left behind to cherish his legacy is his beautiful wife, Julia; their two precious sons, Noah and Walker; beloved dog, Skylar; his father, Charles Lee Warren; his mother, Jeane Warren; his brother, Greg Warren; his in-laws, Bruce and Tina Fisher and John and Emily Fisher. He is also survived by many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and many dear friends.
Doug was an adoring husband and the best dad any kid could ask for; his life will live on in both of his incredibly handsome blond-haired blue-eyed sons. Doug’s infectious laugh, quick wit, bright smile, and kind gentle soul will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Although we will always hold our memories of him close to our hearts, we’re choosing not to live in the past nor worry about the future; instead, we will focus on the present, live in today, and make each and every day the best we can which is exactly what our Doug would have wanted.
Please, if you are struggling or know anyone who is struggling with mental illness or the disease of addiction, reach out. Talk to someone. Go to a meeting. Support that person. This disease will take away someone you love in the blink of an eye, so squeeze your people tight and never give up the fight.
