Elaine E. Knebel

Carolyn “Elaine” Knebel, was born on November 24, 1923 in Austin, Texas and died July 10th 2014, in Pflugerville, Texas. Elaine, daughter of Henry and Adele Eklund, loving wife of Paul Knebel Jr., passed away in her sleep at her home.

Elaine was predeceased by many loving friends and family members, most recently, her sister-in-law and dear friend Lanelle Knebel.

Elaine is survived by her brother William Eklund and wife Eva Joy, niece Allison Eklund, niece Jan Selman and husband Dwain, grandnephew Jason Eklund and wife Laura, grandnieces Chandra Eklund and Carol Wolfe and husband Tyler, and her great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, Zane, Cruz and Kai Eklund, Kensingtyn, Preston, Lexington and Maddigan Wolfe.

Elaine loved and dedicated her life to her family.

Elaine worked as a buyer and manager for Scarbrough’s Department Store for many years until her retirement in 1977 and always remembered her co-workers fondly. Throughout her life, Elaine enjoyed traveling, dancing, sewing, quilting, and baking. She also enjoyed watching tennis, Dancing with the Stars, Wheel of Fortune, and reading mystery novels. Elaine always had a sweet treat and a hug for anyone who came to visit. She was well loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to Yvonne Chapman, Scott, Brad and Ryan Hickman, Danny and Linda Selman, Amy Perry and all of her many friends for their loving care and companionship.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at 3:00pm on Monday, July 14, 2014 with funeral services following at 4:00pm at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N IH35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. Entombment will follow at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Mausoleum.
