

Eleno Ramirez Jr, aged 78, was born on August 15, 1946, in Bryan, Texas, and passed away on March 20, 2025, in Austin, Texas. He is survived by his beloved wife, Esperanza (Hope), and his three daughters: Joyce Perez, Deanna Campos, and Elena Ramirez. Eleno also leaves behind his grandchildren, Michelle (Bobby) Clemons, Marissa (Iris) Perez-Ortiz, Tracy Turner, and Joshua (Jade) Campos, along with eight great-grandchildren.
He is remembered fondly by his siblings: Pete Ramirez, Elena Cornejo, Ysidoro Ramirez, and Ruth Morales, as well as Deaundre Turner, the father of three of his great-grandchildren, and hundreds of nieces and nephews. Eleno was preceded in death by his parents, Eleno Ramirez Sr. and Bartola Montavlo Ramirez, along with his siblings Lupe Macias, Margarita Mayorga, Leonardo, Jesse, Margarito, Julian, and Joe Ramirez.
Eleno cherished his three daughters and his beautiful wife, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, having met at just 14 years of age. He took great pride in his grandchildren and shared a special bond with his great-grandchildren, whom he referred to as his legacy.
A passionate athlete, Eleno enjoyed playing fastpitch softball and attended the WCWS for 29 years. He played men's fastpitch for decades as a catcher, a sport that remained close to his heart until his final days.
Eleno was known for his great sense of humor; he had a knack for telling jokes and sharing funny stories about any situation or person. If he had a nickname for you, it meant you had made a lasting impression on him.
Eleno had a successful career at IBM and Texas Instruments and volunteered at events such as the Austin Aqua Fest and the Austin Rodeo, where he formed lasting friendships.
Eleno will be deeply missed and remembered with love by many.
Funeral Services for Eleno will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church (7601 Burnet Road, Austin, TX 78757) on Wednesday April 23rd. A Rosary Prayer Service will begin at 9:45 AM, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30.
Immediately following the Mass, there will be a reception and celebration of life at the church. This gathering is an opportunity for family and friends to come together to honor Eleno Ramirez Jr, share memories, and support one another.
For those who are unable to attend the church services, the family also invites you to their home from 5 PM to 7 PM for a time of remembrance and connection. Your presence during these moments will be greatly appreciated as they celebrate Eleno’s life and legacy.
