He proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired after over 20 years of service. In 1975, he opened his own business, Capitol Restaurant Sales and Service, where he developed lifelong clients and friends in and around the Austin area. Elmer Doyle was a man of faith who loved God and wanted to share his faith with everyone so that they too could have a personal relationship with God. He was kind, generous, quick witted, humble and a hard-working man who never “retired” and loved to work and help others. He is the founder of EDM University where his children are proud graduates and alumni. Elmer Doyle lived an extraordinary life that could be talked about for days.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Ira Elmer Miller and Ruby Miller, son Elmer Doyle Miller II,
son Gregory Ira Miller, sister Marilyn Screws, and sister Virginia Weimer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, JoAnn Miller (Jansky), son Steve Miller and wife Stacey, daughter Rachel Miller Schoen and husband Brian, and daughter-in-law Dawn Miller. Elmer Doyle is a proud Papa of 5 grandchildren, Steven II, David, Gregory, Alexa and Piper and three great grandchildren, Steven III, Hunter and Karli. He is also survived by three sisters, Ruth White, Wrena Morris (Wayne), Lynn Warren (Leon) and three brothers, Loy Miller (Claudette), Earl Miller (Claudine), David Miller (Glynis.)
Elmer Doyle was a loving and exceptional husband, father and Papa who is not gone but waiting for each of us and our arrival into Heaven. What a day of rejoicing that will be!
