

Elroy Henry (Mike) Meiske, 80, of Pflugerville passed away Friday, July 6, 2012. He was born November 19, 1931 in Williamson County to Otto and Ida Meiske. After 4 years in the Air Force, Mike worked for Gulf Oil and retired from Chevron. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and the annual Faith Lutheran Church Men's fishing trip. He was an active member of the Lutheran church, serving in numerous positions, and was a big supporter of Tomorrow's Child Golf Benefit. After retirement he completed his bucket list, which included making a Hole in One, riding in a NASCAR at Daytona and flying in a hot air balloon in Albuquerque.
Mike will be greatly missed by his family, including his wife, Pat; son, David and wife MaryBeth; and daughter, Cindy and husband David Dolezal; grandchildren, Nathaniel and Rochelle Meiske; brothers, Erwin (Juanette) and Herb (Rosalie) Meiske; extended family and numerous friends.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the doctors and staff at St. David's North Austin Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 9, 2012 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Memorial Chapel, and the family invites you to join them in wearing brightly colored attire. Burial will follow at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Pflugerville, TX; Tomorrow's Child c/o Faith Lutheran Church Austin, TX; or a charity of your choice.
