Esperanza E. Rodriguez

Esperanza “Hope” was 72 years old and was born on March 18th, 1954, in Austin, Texas. She was a devoted wife of 56 years, mother, grandmother, sister and friend whose kindness touched everyone she met. Her family was the center of her world. Esperanza made everyone around her feel loved and supported, like family. She was a member of Santa Barbara Catholic Church and found joy in sewing, collecting trinkets, attending her grandchildren's school events, thrift shopping, and she never missed a chance to get “dolled up”.

She is survived by her husband Henry Rodriguez of Austin, TX; daughter Raquel Reyes and spouse Alex Reyes of Manor, TX; daughter Rita Gomez and Robert Gomez of Manor, TX; grandchildren Henry Rodriguez, Bianca Ramirez, Samantha Rodriguez, Samuel Reyes, Sara Baquero, Soledad Holmes, John Henry Rodriguez, Shelby Rodriguez-Villarreal, Mana Rodriguez, Joseph Reyes, Leonora Rodriguez, Mia Gomez, Isaac Reyes, Marlene Schaatt, Alexis Reyes, Jamie Gomez, Trinity Anguiano, Lalia Alonzo, Catherine Reyes, Leonardo Contreras, and Vincent Contreras; 20 great-grandchildren. Esperanza was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Petra Escalante; siblings Steve Escalante, Isabel Bueno, Becky Escalante, Carmela Castro, Luis Escalante, Emily Pena, and Tony Escalante; children, John Henry Rodriguez & Amy Rodriguez-Meiche.

Pallbearers will be: Henry Rodriguez, John-Henry Rodriguez, Joseph Reyes, Isaac Reyes, Jose Reyna, Martin Escalante III, Sara Baquero, and Mia Gomez.

Esperanza will forever be remembered for her smile, strength, and unconditional love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Honey to attend and celebrate her wonderful life.

Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville on May 19, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, followed by a rosary and prayer service at the same location on May 19, 2026, at 7:00 pm.

A funeral and liturgy service will take place at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home on May 20, 2026, at 10:00 am, with Father Henry Cuellar, Officiating. After the funeral service she will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. Following the committal service, family and friends are invited to a reception from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm at Eternal Faith Baptist Church, 12720 FM 973, Manor.
