Esther is preceded in death by her husband, Vidal; grandson Evan Ronald Domel; her parents, Jose and Octavia; and all of her siblings.
Esther was born in Weir, Texas, on April 21, 1927. A farmer's daughter, Esther, ran through pastures and played alongside the San Gabriel River with her brothers and sisters.
During a sibling’s birth at the farm, Dr. Barr, a doctor from Bertram Texas, enlisted the aid of Esther, a teenager, during the delivery. He offered her a training/job in his medical practice. Eventually, Esther became a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Bertram, Texas.
While working as a nurse, Esther married Vidal Almazan after a brief courtship. The couple moved to St. Joseph, Missouri, where Vidal was employed. They were married for 58 years. They raised seven children, including a set of twins.
The family moved to Round Rock, Texas, in 1972.
Esther was hired by Farmers State Bank President Bunky Whitlow, to work as a bookkeeper. She was later promoted to the position of Assistant Cashier. She loved her coworkers and her work.
Esther has been very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren, whom she helped guide to become caring and loving human beings.
Esther is deeply loved by her family. We are truly honored to have had our mother and grandmother in our lives for very long time. This very generous soul kept giving of herself until her death. She was a giving tree.
