Esther Herrera, 65, passed away January 15, 2015 in Austin, TX. She was the daughter of Ramona Luna and Rafael Herrera and was born in El Paso, TX and raised in East Los Angeles, California. She went to Garfield High School. She had 10 siblings. Six older sisters and brothers, Irma, Ralph, Rosa, Josie, Estella, and Elmo, one younger brother, Hector and three younger sisters, Martha, Patricia, and Sonia. Esther Herrera is survived by her children Michael Herrera, Maggie Quintana and Lupe Castellanos; and her grandchildren Celine Herrera and Mason Cunningham.
Esther loved crossword puzzles, watching movies, and swimming. Esther was a democratic, very proud and patriotic, she was a woman who was dedicated and devoted to her faith and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church for over 15 years. Esther cherished the medal she received for finishing the LA Marathon and was one of her favorite accomplishments. She was a lover of animals and cherished the family pets as if they were her own children. Esther was fiercely independent and was always more than willing to share life’s experiences with her loved ones.
