Eva Aleene Reid

Aleene was a homemaker and was lovingly devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and the many people that were a part of her life.

Aleene married Walter Thomas Reid Sr. on July 15, 1946 and enjoyed a loving relationship for 72 years.

She was a charter member of First Baptist Church in Pflugerville, Texas. She was a faithful servant and was the guiding influence in her children’s and her grandchildren’s lives.

Aleene was preceded in death by one child, her parents, and many of her sisters and brothers.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Reid Sr., a sister, Darpha Helge, sister-in-law, Sadie Fishback, her children and their spouses: Tom Reid and wife Yolanda; Travis Reid and wife Carolyn; Debbie Brown and husband Darrell; Leta Hernandez and husband John; Bart Reid and wife Kim; Ron Reid and wife Diane; Carol Vasquez and husband Danny; Doug Reid and wife Sharon; Paul Reid and Tanja Fry; Wanda Higdon and husband Doug; Briana Nowinsky and husband James. She is also survived by more than 33 grandchildren, more than 45 great grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Dell Seton Medical Center at UT for their wonderful care of Eva and her family. The family would also like to express appreciation for all the loving care that Aleene received at Falcon Ridge Rehabilitation Center.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral services will begin directly after the visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by a committal in Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
