

Federico Avila Cueva Jr., 66 years young, of Austin, Texas passed away early Tuesday morning, November 29, 2011 after courageously battling Angiosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer, for three and a half years. He was born in Robstown, Texas to Federico, Sr. and Trinidad Cueva on September 17, 1945.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a double major in Sociology and Psychology from Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas. He was a retired Exxon gas plant operator. After his career with Exxon, he went on to become a successful entrepreneur owning several businesses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Federico and Trinidad Cueva, his brothers, Arturo and Daniel and his sister, Antonia. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Maria Gloria and his children, Federico Castillo Cueva, Samuel Ivan Cueva (Guenevere) and Gabriela Cueva Hinojosa (Hector) all of Austin, Texas. He also leaves behind two beloved grandchildren, Christopher Anthony Cueva and Isabella Karina Hinojosa. He is survived by four brothers, Roberto Cueva of Orange Grove, Juan Cueva of Corpus Christi, Rene Cueva of Robstown and Felix Cueva of Plainview; seven sisters, Teresa Villarreal of Plainview, Maria Villarreal of Corpus Christi, Estella Hull of Meridian, MS, Bertha Martinez and Irma Prieto, both of Hastings, NE, Minerva Ortiz and Adelmira Lozano, both of Kingsville. Survivors also include many loving aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation is being held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. There will be no procession from the funeral home to the church, family and friends will gather at the church for a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 12041 Bittern Hollow, Austin, Texas 78758. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
Pallbearers will be Eligio Cueva, Arturo Cueva, Ramiro Cabrera, Danny Losoya, Benito Molina, and Frank Molina.
