He was born in Jobabo, Cuba in 1937 and later immigrated to the United States in 1967. Work brought him to Houston in 1970 where he lived with his family for many years before retiring to Port Aransas and later Spring. Fernando was married for 64 years to Nuria C. Marimon, also of Cuba.
Fernando had a long and rewarding career in the United States as a Piping Design Engineer working for several companies in the petrochemical industry. His work often took him overseas, and together with his wife, he was able to live and work in South Korea, Japan, Venezuela, Indonesia and Singapore. Fernando also loved to travel for pleasure and he was very proud that he got to fulfill his childhood dream of traveling around the world.
Fernando was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Julia. He is survived by his wife, three children, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas with a rosary service beginning at 7:00 p.m. in The Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2020 in The Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home followed by a committal service in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
