Frances Trevino Rodriguez was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 2, 2014. She was born on December 31, 1942. Frances retired from the State after devoting her life to working with individuals with developmental disabilities at Travis State School and Austin State School, now known as Austin State Supported Living Center. Frances held a supervisory position, where she provided the highest level of quality care to those individuals and made sure her staff did the same. Her accomplishments were centered in improving the lives of these individuals by treating them with Dignity and Respect.
Frances is survived by her loving and dedicated daughter, Gloria Rodriguez; sons, Sylvester Rodriguez and Frank Rodriguez (Maritza); her grandchildren, Crystal Rodriguez, Daniel and Victoria Rodriguez; great-granddaughter, Esperanza Rodriguez; sisters, Lydia Mendez (Larry), Mary DeLeon (Jesse), Edna Martinez and Elizabeth Torres; brothers, Frank Jr. Martinez (Celia), Arthur Martinez, and Michael Martinez; special sister-in-law, Bertha Martinez; special cousin, Delia (Dee) Gonzales; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ascension Rodriguez; parents, Frank and Victorina Martinez; beloved grandparents, Emeterio and Josefa Trevino; sister, Virginia Dominguez; and brothers, Paul Martinez, Henry Martinez and Angel Martinez.
Frances will be remembered for her sense of humor, charm, her love of music, loyalty to her family and friends, the wonderful way she could express her feelings and support to others verbally and in written form. She always thought of others before herself. Frances had a great love for her daughter Gloria who provided the best of care during her lengthy illness and who has followed her wishes until the end.
We will all miss your presence much more than a few words can express. Although you are gone and at times we will feel alone, our love for you and your wonderful memories of your beautiful spirit will fill our hearts and homes. We will be happy for you now because you are no longer in pain. Give our love to our family members when you get to heaven.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff members who took care of their precious family member at St. David’s Medical Center, Brodie Ranch Rehabilitation Center and Gentiva Hospice.
Celebration of life services for Frances will be held at 1:00 in the afternoon on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. The family will greet guests from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm prior to the services at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home.
