She is preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Quinonez, Sr.; parents, Jose and Simona H. Avalos; daughter, Patsy Q. Castillo; granddaughter, Santos C. Ramos; brothers, Ernesto Avalos, Pedro Avalos, and Isidro (Tilo) Avalos; sisters, Juanita Avalos, Manuela H. Vasquez, Maria Quinonez, Lucia Alba, Josie Willis, Simona Cervantes and Paula Reyna.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Reuben Quinonez, Jr., Pete (Linda) Quinonez, Albert (Fela) Quinonez and Joe (Irene V.) Quinonez; daughters, Frances (Pablo) Cadena, Beatrice (Demetrio) Solis and Irene (Richard) Sanchez; sisters, Petra A. Vasquez of Lawn, Texas, Sofia Navejas, Luisa Cordova, and Rosie Alvarez, all of Elgin, Texas. Her pride and joy is the legacy of love she leaves behind in her 27 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Quinonez will be remembered for her assertiveness, strong work ethic and emphasizing the importance of building and maintaining one’s reputation and character. She proudly maintained her independence until January 2021. She survived the winter disaster and was fortunate to be shielded from COVID. It was her belief that at 90, her job had been done and she was ready to move on to her next journey.
The family wishes to extend a special message of gratitude for the love, care and support she received from her sisters, Petra Vasquez, Sofia Navejas, Luisa Cordova and Rosie Alvarez. Her sisters were the support for their mother and helped calm her fears and encourage her to remain strong in her faith.
The family would also like to extend their gratitude to her medical care team, Dr. Pete Garcia, Dr. Richard Peavey, Peoples Community Care, St. David’s Hospital, Cuidado Cassero Homehealth, and Silverado Hospice for providing the best care with the ultimate compassion and support.
Honoring Francisca as pallbearers will be Johnny Cuellar Gutierrez, Roy Briseno Jr., Everado Garcia, Richard S. Ochoa, Charlie Navejas, Raymond Renteria Jr., Rene E. Quinonez, and Abel J. Montemayor.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Her life will be celebrated on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. She will then be laid to rest at Santa Maria Cemetery in Pflugerville.
