It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Francisco “Paco” Palacios Rodriguez, who passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of his devoted family. He was 77 years old.
Paco was born on August 6, 1947, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico to Francisco and Teodora Rodriguez. A man of many talents, Paco displayed a passion for music at an early age, winning a local talent show at just eight years old. His musical gift would blossom into a lifelong pursuit and a legacy that touched countless lives.
After relocating with his family to Round Rock, Texas, Paco built a meaningful and multifaceted life. He pursued a professional career as an engineer, earned a degree in Government, and achieved the rank of 4th-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Despite his many accomplishments, Paco remained humble and always placed his family at the center of his life.
In 1972, he married Martha Fuentes Rodriguez in Austin, Texas. Together, they shared 53 loving years of marriage and raised four children: Francisco “Paquito,” Raphael, Fernando, and Leticia. Paco also had two beloved eldest daughters, Yvette and Janette, from his first marriage. He took immense pride in all of his children and their achievements.
Paco’s love for music led him to form the family band Alma Tejana with his sons, with Martha serving as the band’s manager. For over 40 years, their music brought joy and inspiration to many. Paco’s passion for entertaining and mentoring others left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
He was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, kind heart, and ever-present smile. His unwavering belief in his family and in following one's dreams defined his character and inspired those around him.
Paco is preceded in death by his father Francisco Rodriguez, mother Teodora Rodriguez, brothers David and Robert Rodriguez, sister Maya Velez, son Francisco “Paquito” Rodriguez, and granddaughter Savannah Rodriguez. He is survived by his beloved wife Martha Rodriguez, his children Yvette, Janette, Raphael, Fernando, and Leticia, his grandchildren Francisco, Ralphy, Annalisia, Daliyah, Nikole, Marco, Paxton, his sister Yolanda Sanchez, and many extended family members and friends.
Services:
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, beginning at 4:00 p.m., followed by a rosary service at 7:00 p.m., at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
A funeral mass will take place on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint William Catholic Church, 620 Round Rock W Dr, Round Rock, TX 78681. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
Following the burial, a feast celebration in honor of Paco’s life and legacy will be held back at Saint William Catholic Church.
Paco will be dearly missed, but his memory and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
