

Gene was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on February 4, 1937. He proudly served in the Army from 1953 to 1957. He then went on to marry his beloved wife of 53 years, Janice. In 1961, he received his Bachelor of Science with distinction in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska. In 1975, he and his family moved to Austin as part of the Motorola team. While during his tenure with Motorola, he was awarded the Dan Noble Fellow Award which was the highest honorary award you can receive. He then retired in 1995 as Vice President of the Technical Staff and Director of Engineering for the Microcontroller Technologies Group, SPS. He had a great love of reading, computers and most especially his grandson, Parker.
Gene is survived by his wife, Janice Schriber; two sons, Steven and Michael Schriber; daughter, Sandra Schriber Yax; grandson Parker Yax; all of Austin.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Per Gene's request, a private funeral will be held.
