

Greg Lovelidge passed away at Dallas Methodist Hospital on November 18, 2013 at the age of 65. He was born on November 4, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY to Thomas and Agnes Lovelidge. Greg lived in Round Rock, TX for many years.
Greg has been a leader and influential member in the drug and alcohol abuse treatment, prevention, and education community for the last 40 years. Greg answered the need for educating counselors by founding the Institute of Chemical Dependency Studies. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Palmer Drug Abuse Program and was the Regional Vice President for the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors. He started the “Recovery Today” Newspaper, and provided education and encouragement to those in recovery while celebrating recovery in many aspects.
He was a devoted father, caring and giving friend, and a mentor to many. One of his most exciting and treasured moments was the day he became a grandfather to Jackson Gregory Lovelidge on July 16, 2013. His many acts of kindness, generosity, selfless acts and unconditional love was experienced by so many and will never be forgotten. We will carry and cherish the memories he gave us forever.
Greg is survived by his son and daughter, Gregory and Andrea; his grandson, Jackson Gregory Lovelidge; his mother, Agnes; five brothers, Tom, Steve, Robert, Pete & Jeff; and his Angel, Daisy. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Thomas and his brother, Chris.
The service will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 1:00pm at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. IH35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
