

Guillermo was born to Lucy Torres Calderón and Guillermo Mario Calderón Sr. on June 21, 1961, in Del Rio, Texas. He attended Del Rio High School and served as president of the Class of 1979. He attended the University of Texas in Austin, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1983. He was employed at State Farm Insurance and was actively involved in corporate organizations as a member of the Hispanic Employees Resource Organization (HERO) and president of the Partners in Education (PIE) Foundation. Guillermo was also honored as State Farm Insurance Volunteer of Year. He was a graduate of the Hispanic Austin Leadership (HAL) program of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and past member of El Amistad Club of Round Rock.
He was devoted to his family and was generous to those in need. His family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of St. David’s Hospital and Texas Neurological Rehabilitation Center and all those who attended to his needs.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Cynthia Maldonado Calderón, of Cedar Park; mother Lucy Torres Calderón of Austin; brother Oscar Calderón of San Antonio; sisters Margie Calderón of Austin and Ester Calderón Regalado, and husband, Alvino, of Kyle; nephew, Adrian Norberto Logsdon; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and cherished friends.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, with a Rosary at 7:30pm on Friday, November 11 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. The Funeral Service will take place on Sunday, November 13, 2011 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home.
