

Harold Elton Lewis Jr., “Sonny”, age 73, passed away August 3, 2016, in the care of his loving daughter at his family home where he grew up in Austin, Texas. Sonny was born March 29, 1943, in Houston, Texas to Sebilla Lewis (Billie) and Harold Elton Lewis Sr. (Hal).
He attended schools in Austin before joining the Army on April 30, 1960 and serving in Vietnam. He attained the rank of Private First Class and was honorably discharged April 29, 1963. He returned to the States and worked many jobs over the years like security for H.L. Shaw, Schlitz distribution, managed Ballard’s convenient stores before he began working for Henna Chevrolet as a service department manager for 20 plus years. He retired for a short time and returned on a part time basis.
Sonny enjoyed music, dancing, and visiting small places like Luckenbach, New Braunfels and Fredericksburg with his daughter Dana, where he enjoyed the German flare. He enjoyed firearms and firearm training and recently acquired his concealed carry handgun license. He was always there to help a friend in need. Sonny loved new places, meeting new people and making new friends. He was well liked and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Dana Rae Lewis of Austin, Texas; and niece, Kimberly Diane Lewis who is currently residing in California.
Sonny is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mootie; mother, Billie; father, Hal; and brother Bryan.
The family will have a memorial gathering at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
