

Imogene and her family moved to Austin at an early age during the Great Depression. She graduated from Austin High School in 1945 and attended Bethany Nazarene College. On November 18, 1947, she married the love of her life, Walter William Johnson, Jr., at the Grace Church of the Nazarene where they remained active members.
Imogene was a stranger to no one and will be remembered for her sweet personality and hilarious sense of humor. Imogene was an incredibly talented artist and her paintings are proudly displayed in her loved ones’ homes. She also had a love and talent for southern-style cooking, quilt-making and gardening.
Imogene is preceded in death by her parents Cleveland and Laura White; her husband Walter Johnson; her sister Ruth Davis; brothers Elmore “Pat” White, Grey White and Sterling White. Imogene is survived by two daughters Patricia Johnson and Darlene Johnson; son Jerry Johnson and wife Lynn Johnson; four grandchildren Chanelle Dunn and husband Sam Dunn, Lacey Johnson, Shala Johnson, and Garret Johnson and wife Aimee Johnson; brother-in-law Erwin Davis and two sisters-in-law Mozelle White and Judy White. In addition, many loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service and Celebration of Imogene’s Life will be held on Monday, July 21 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Visitation at noon and services at 1:00 p.m. 14501 N. I-35, Pflugerville, Texas. Burial at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
