

Irene graduated from Austin High School, and in 1951, she married Charles Wayne Wright. Irene was a full time homemaker. Her passion was collecting Dr. Pepper memorabilia. She was a founding member of the Dr. Pepper Museum in Waco, Texas. She was also a prominent contributor to the Dr. Pepper Museum in Dublin, Texas. Her collection was featured in numerous publications. People visited her from all over the country to marvel over her extensive collection.
She was a member of Memorial Methodist Church. She was also a contributing member of the Austin Police Wives Club.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband Charles and her youngest son, Glenn. She is survived by: her children Beth Wright Brown (and partner Gary Buchanan) and Randy Wright ( and wife Donna); her grandchildren Jason Wright, Angela Crane, Travis Wright, and Amber Smith; her great-grandchildren Hannah Smith, Emily Smith, Ryan Smith, Skylar Wright, Steven Billingsley, Taylor Billingsley, Elizabeth Saucedo, and Jonathan Crane; and great-great-grandchildren Estella Saucedo and Grace Billingsley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Irene’s name to a favorite charity.
A graveside service for Irene will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
