He was born January 17, 1956, in San Antonio to Hugh Peace Jr. and Frances Goode Peace. He was a loving and supportive husband and father, and a friend to all. He grew up in Windcrest, Texas, with a short time in Brandon, Mississippi. He attended the University of Texas. He has spent his life mixing and selling paint for numerous paint companies. He never forgot the face and name of the people he met. He loved hiking, photography, road trips, fishing, and gem & mineral collecting.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Karen Johnsen Peace; loving daughter, Mary Frances Peace Whiteaker, spouse Miles, and a devoted granddaughter, Alison Miranda Whiteaker; sister, Cissie Palmer and husband Jerry; twin brothers, Billy and Bobby Peace, spouse Rose; and sister, Cathy Hood; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his son, James William Peace, father, Hugh Peace Jr., and grandparents, Hugh Peace Sr. and wife Bess.
A memorial service will be scheduled in the future when the weather is cooler in a local park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
