Janet Lee Woodard

Janet Lee Woodard, 69, of Austin, Texas, passed away on August 6, 2018. She was born to Benjamin and Matilda "Billie" Murray on January 1, 1949, the first baby to born in the New Year in Midland, Texas. Janet graduated from Burgess High School in El Paso, Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin. She was married to Thomas Ray Woodard on June 8, 1968 and remained happily married to the love of her life for almost forty years. Janet loved raising her three boys more than anything in this world. She was a talented artist, puppet maker and portraitist. Janet was loved by many family, friends and neighbors. She is survived by her three sons and their spouses: Travis and Diana Woodard, Eric and Lauren Woodard, and Dusty and Leah Woodard; by grandchildren Layla Woodard, Amelia Woodard, and Henry Woodard; sister Sandra Rule; brother Curtis Murray and sisters-in-law Kathy Murray, Karen Brown, and Sandra Barron. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home.
