

Jay Stanley Plymesser passed away February 6th, 2014 in Pflugerville, Texas. He was born in Greenfield, Iowa, in 1921 to Bill and Greta Plymesser. Jay was raised on the family farm and educated in Greenfield public schools, and enlisted in the Navy during WWII. He served two years on the USS Iowa and attended V-12 Officers Training School and earned a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
Jay began his 40 year career in engineering with Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. in Akron, Ohio. He also went on to work with General Dynamics in Pomona, California, where he worked on the Tarter Terrier Missile Program, before returning to Firestone in Salinas, California, and finally Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he worked with Firestone until retiring.
Jay was preceded in death by his brothers, Lee and Max, and is survived by his wife Rosemary, daughter Jeanne and husband David, daughter Julie and husband Raleigh, grandchildren Katherine, Jim, and Darwin, and great grandson Elijah.
Jay was a kind and gentle husband and father and will always be loved and never forgotten.
Funeral Services to celebrate Jay’s life will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home with visitation held the hour prior. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
