Jennifer Lee passed away on November 12, 2020 in Houston, TX. She is survived by her three children, Amanda, Donald and Jessica Tran and lifelong partner, Tapia Porfirio. She was a beautiful, loving mother whose smile lit up any room and whose laughter was so distinct, you would know it was her. Her personality, often described as kind, yet incredibly strong was very apparent. Her presence alone was commanding.
She was an inspiring, accomplished and progressive woman, who was a pioneer in her industry at a young age. Never did she dare to follow the rules. She dreamt big and, boy, did she accomplish! She was a woman with a gracious nature who inspired others, shared her knowledge and gave opportunities to those around her. To this day, her children are showered with stories from near and far of those who were so positively impacted by her – stories of opportunity, of mentorship and of lives bettered. A lover of technology, she could type faster than her children, knew all the latest apps and often taught her eldest, non-tech savvy daughter how to use the latest gadgets. She had the memory of a computer, recalling phone numbers as if she were a phone book and would often question why today’s generation had the memory of a goldfish.
She was a fierce protector of all those she loved and cared for. She was a loving aunt and grand-aunt to many nieces, nephews and their children. She cared for them as her own, helping them with large
milestones in their lives, doing everything from cooking for them, helping them move into their new homes and using her experience and foresight to guide them on business decisions. She never wanted anything in return, other than to smother their children with kisses. Speaking of cooking, she was an amazing cook who often got in trouble as a child for coming home late because she was out cooking and baking with her friends. Her desserts are the talk of the town and is what everyone looked forward to at
family events, especially her Thai tea and Che Thai.
Her children were lucky to not only be graced with such a loving mother but a shining example of a strong woman. Through her strength, guidance and tenacity, she raised three children – a dentist, an
entrepreneur and a doctor. Her children were greatly influenced by her and her teachings. Life was no match for her, as she would gracefully overcome anything thrown at her, coming back bigger and better than before. This trait of hers continues to inspire her children each and every day as they face life’s challenges. She always enjoyed learning, which could also be seen in her passion for traveling and new experiences. Her unending quest for life’s next great adventure, in combination with her fierce and brilliant nature lives on as she embarks on her next glorious journey.
