

Jessie was known by almost everyone as “Mickie” from early childhood on. She worked for 45 years for the Texas Unemployment Commission. Mickie moved up within the Commission to a supervisory level. She was once offered a position in Washington, D.C. with the Department of Labor, but turned it down to stay at home and be of aid to her sister.
Mickie is survived by sisters, Clintie M. Liles and Tommie I. Taylor, both of Austin; nephew, Kenneth D. Ross Sr. of San Antonio, TX; two great-nieces, Deborah L. Ross of San Antonio, TX and Kelly D. Ross of Austin, TX; two great-nephews, Kenneth D. Ross Jr. of Huntersville, N.C. and Loften K. Ross of San Antonio, TX; and one great-great-nephew, Brandon Stroman of San Antonio, TX. Mickie will also be missed by her lifelong friend, Ruth Whitehead of Smithville, TX.
The family would like to thank Pflugerville Care Center and Lighthouse Hospice for their outstanding and genuine care of Mickie.
A visitation will be held for Mickie beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Cook-Walden\Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home with burial at 12:30 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville, Texas.
