Almost every morning at work I would see Jimmy at the coffee maker making another pot of coffee.  He always had a kind word for me, and we had some great talks about the "good old days" of Austin. He will be missed. RIP my friend. 

Jimmy & I go back a long time ago, since the 50’s. We went to school together, we fished together up and down Red River, went to dances at the old City Coliseum, dranked together,  laughed &  joked around, even tried to sing, ha! We even worked at Stripling Blake together along with his brother's Edward, Robert, Cano, his cousin’s Manual, Willie Joe, & of course Bully, what great memories! I will miss my friend, but I’ll always remember him. I’m  feeling sad, but life goes on, sending  my condolences to the family, RIP, brother, I know you’re in a better place. I worked with jimmy for about 20years he was a great friend and coworker may you Rest In Peace. My condolences to your family. Victor Vasquez 

Jimmy was a classic movie buff ( he loved his Westerns) and we would talk about what we had watched on TCM or Grit and he would tell me he had seen such and such a movie at the theatre when it came out. Jimmy was a great person and smart as a whip. Here's to Jimmy my friend. I hope you are sitting down with John Wayne and shootin' the bull. RIP my brother.

Most of my memories will be when my parents would get together with my too Jimmy and his wife and they would be at our house on Saturday nights enjoying them selfs and him giving me the nickname "munchkin". Those memories I will cherish forever. You may be gone too but you wont ever be forgotten.

Jimmy is survived by his wife Elida, his two daughters Michelle and Raquel Rivas, his three sons Jimmy, Richard, and Arthur Rivas, thirteen grandchildren, two  great grandchildren, two sisters Delores Cruz and Lucia Castro and one brother Alex Rivas. He is also survived by a host of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
