John was a great man and always good to talk to.  I was saddened to learn of his passing today, but I have many fond memories of time spent with both Bunny and John.  One of my favorites was when we would eat water melon by the big tree down by the water at my parents house.  John always managed to find the biggest one and he would be super excited about it.  We could sit there for hours talking about life and watching the big boats go by.  Rest In Peace John.

I will miss my dad. He was always there for us . Most of all he led us to give our lives to Jesus Christ and always live for God. Kathy and I are blessed to have had parents like we had.

I am blessed to have John Blacklock as my uncle.  My dad, Clint Rogas, was Bunny's younger brother.  I loved to listen to Uncle John and my dad talk about the old days.  Visiting Uncle John's house was a pleasure, because he always welcomed you with a smile and food to eat.  I'm glad Uncle John and Aunt Bunny are together again.

Uncle John King was my Father's ( Calvin Luther Blacklock), oldest surviving Uncle.  Uncle John was the youngest of a large, faith-filled family who all used their physical, intellectual, and most importantly Spiritual gifts to make this world a better place.  My Father (aka Corky) held all of his family and especially his Uncles on a pedestal.  However,
Since John King was only 9 years his senior,  they were even closer and more like cousins/brothers.
When we moved to New Braunfels in 2013, it afforded us the opportunity to see Uncle
John and other kinfolk more regularly. Dad
and Uncle John both had cell phones, and after programming their numbers in for each other, they would call each other just "out of the blue".  But, I could always tell when it was Uncle John on the other end of the line because their conversations always referenced "the rusty snake", fishing in Gillian's Creek, washing John's car in the creek prior to lending it to Dad for a date, and the Peanut Brittle that I am ashamed to say never made
It to Uncle John because Dad/Corky consumed it before we could make it over to his house.  I have several special pictures of them which I will locate and upload.  My Dad/Corky is back in a
Rehab hospital after spending around a week in the hospital over Thanksgiving.  Dad's
condition is stable; however, he is now having to cope with increasing dementia. If at all possible Dad would be there tomorrow to pay his deepest respects to his hero; John King Blacklock and John's family. God is so Good, and I know that
Heaven must be so much brighter with his presence.  Praise God that he is no longer in pain and reunited with his beloved Bunny.

I loved this man with all my heart & soul. I will miss His laugh & smile, but he's smiling now. Dottie B. Blacklock

My Uncle John was so kind and sweet and loved dearly by his family.  We will miss him greatly.

My prayers are with you and yours on this day.
